Land Board.

The Land Board met on Monday, Present: The Commissioner of Grown Lands (Mr Strauohon), Messrs Stock, Roy, and Heslop. ACQUIRING FREEHOLD. The following applied for the freehold of d.p. lands :—A Neilson, Sections 28 and 32, Block 3, Huiroa; R. Pairman, Section 93, Block 11, Kaupokonui; A. Barnes, Section 24, Block 10, Huiroa.—Agreed to. WHANGAMOMONA SETTLERS. A report from Mr W. Nathan was submitted showing the stock that had been purchased by Whangamomona I. F. settlers, and the persons who have clearings large enough for building, but who have made no signs of doing so, nor of making other improvements. They have been off the works since Christmas :—P. N. Fraei, J. Fortune, T. Brennan, T. O'Toole, A. Adams, A. Hoskin, L. Dalton, T. Brodie, R. Spry, C. P. Baker, aud D. Ross.—The interests of the persons named were declared forfeited. TRANSFERS. An application from the Public Trustee, administrator in the estate of A. Peters, deceased, to transfer p.l.' Section 12, Block 2, Opunake, to M. J. Mcßeynolds, was agreed to. B. Weale's application to transfer d.p. Section 9, Block 12, Egmont, to E. South, was deferred for a fresh valuation of improvements. SURRENDERS. The following surrenders were ac» cepted :—A. Aslop, Section 6, Block 10, Omona, Whenuakura SS.; ..S L. Wright, Section 2, Block 2, Omona, Galtan S.S. SPECIAL SETTLEMENTS.

The Ranger repo.'ued as to compliance with the residence conditions in the Milsom and Tanner Special Settlements. The Milsom Settlement originally contained 85 sections, 21 are still held, but only 16 original, members remain ; 14 had been surrendered ; 9 of the selectors are resident, and seven non-resident. The Tanner Settlement consisted of 26 sections ; 14 section* are still held by original selectors; 12 have been surrendered; 10 selectors are resident and four are non-resident. —The report was adopted. The Ranger reported having resumed possession of the following sections, and recommended the improved value of same be fixed as set against each other ;—Section 11, Block 14, Ngatimaru, 20s; Section 2, Block 8, Ngatimaru, 15s (improvements, £40); Section 3, Block 3, Ngatimaru, 15a (improvements, £48); Section 16, Block 2, Ngatimaru, 12s 6d (£ls; Section 6, Block 15, Upper Waitara, 12s 6d (£10); Section 27, Block 6 Ngatimaru, 12s 6d £37 10s); Section 6, Block 8, Ngatimaru. 17s 6d (£18); Section 40, Block 11, Ngaire, 41s.— The report was adopted, and the sections will be offered. WAIMATE KOAD HOARD. The Waimate Road Board applied for a certificate to use thirds accruing from sections in the Mangawhero, Kiri, Auroa, and Rowan Roads in lieu of or in reduction of special rates as security for loans raised for forming, culverting, aud metalling portions of the said roads. —The certificate will be granted.—News.
