Land Board.
The Board met on Monday, Present— Messrs Stock (in the chair), Heslop, and Boy. acquiring freehold. The following application for the freehold was granted G. Dunton, Section 12, Block 5, Opunake. OPUNAIE. . M. Callender, to whom a lease of Sections in Block 9, Opunake, was granted at last meeting, asked that the lease be issued in the name of W. C. Dudley, as he was only acting as Mr Dudley’s agent.—Application granted. RANGER’S REPORT. The Banger reported upon inspection of 51 holdings, comprising an area of 7893 acres. The requirement of the Act are: 1169 under cultivation and improvements to a further extent of £4341 2s in value. The improvements made are 4385 acres under grass, valued at £7515, besides additional improvements consisting of buildings, fencing, gardens, &0,, valued at £2216 ss. Twenty-six of the selectors are resident, 18 non-resident while four have not made sufficient improvements according to the Act.—The report was adopted, and the defaulters are to be notified to show cause why the selections should not |w forfeited.—News.
