Blue Gown is by Remedy out of an Arab mare imported by the late Mr E. Mitchell. Blue Gown on April 7th, 1885, at the Canterbury Show Grounds, won the 2 miles, and ran 2nd to Victor in 3 miles. On May 12th 1888, at Show Grounds won the 8 miles. On June 21st at Show grounds won the 2 miles, and July 18th, same year at Lancaster Park, won both the 8 miles and 2 miles. On August 12th, 1892, at the Canterbury Trotting Club's Meeting, won the Sires Cup and Stakes (2 miles in harness), and repeated the performance in 1894. Blue Gown's stock in 1890 took Ist, 2nd and 3rd, prizes at the A. and P. Association's Show, and Ist and special at Leeston. In 1871,15 t prize in carriage class at Leeston ; Ist and 2nd in carriage class at A. and P. Show, besides numerous other prizes.
