Apremont was imported into Canterbury in 1882 by Mr G. G. Stead. FANTASTIC'S dam, FANTASY, is by Traducer, out of Miss Flat, who was by the imported Peter Flat, out of the imported dam Mountain Nymph, who again was by Sir Tatton Sykes' Giselle, by Stockport. Miss Flat is the dam of a numerous family, the greatest of whom was the renowned Welcome Jack, one of the greatest racehorses ever bred in New Zealand. Terms: £2 10s. Groomage fee, 2s 6d. MELROSE is by TAIERI TOM (240 N.Z. Draught Horse Stud Book), out of FANNY FERN (893 N.Z. Draught Horse Stud Book). Taieri Tom was bred by the late Mr James Shand, Taieri, Otago, got by Sir Colin (imp). His dam Nancy was by Glasgow Geordio (imp); second dam Nancy was imported by Mr Valpy. Fanny Fern is by the late Mr J. Wall's Pride of Scotland (GO2 Scotch Stud Book and BU N.Z. Draught Horse Stud Book)fclam Fanny (309 N.Z. Draught Horse Stud Book), by Prince Charlie (G 26 Scotch Stud Book and 4 N.Z. Draught Horse Stud Book). Fanny Fein was shown at Rangiora in 1891, beating all coiners. In 1892 was first at Rangiora, and first and champion at Chrislchurch. FANNY, dam of FaunyFern, 1891, took first and champion for the best brood maie and two of her progeny, Fanny Fein and Cold Stream being the two shown with her. Cold Stream, own brother to Fanny Fern, took fiist and champion at Rangiora, and first and champion at Christchurch.
