Conversazione.

The Conversazione in . connection with the Church of England on Tuesday evening in the Foresters' Hall was fairly well attended and a very enjoyable programme was presented, which was partly a repetition of the one given a week previously. Mr Sam Feaver recited very spiritedly and effectually, the " Jackdaw of Rheims ", He and Mr Pope (of Rahotn), dressed up as a couple of ancient dames, contributed a very amusing dialogue which fairly convulsed the audience. Mr J. Humphries contributed a pianoforte solo in good style. Mts Ballard gave several vocal items in a very pleaing manner, for one of which she received a well merited encore. Mr Walter Read sang " The Irish Emigrant " and had to respond to a recall. Mrs Feaver contributed a reading " Our musical Society," which was an elocutionary treat, her enunciation being very clear and perfect. The String Band contributed three items, which were well rendered. Miss Walford contributed a vocal aud an instrumental item, each of which were done full justice to. Mr G. Tweedie sang the good old Scotch song " Bonnie Dundee " in inimitable style, and fairly brought down the house. In response to an encore he gave " Alister McAllister" in equal style. His spirited action prevented some of the words being heard and also submerged some of the beauties of the music, but without question he established himself a general favorite with the mirth loving audience on this his first appearance before an Opunake audience.
