Opunake played their second match for the junior cup with Waimate on Saturday, and were beaten by 13 points (three tries—two converted) to nothing. Okaiawa beat Ake Ake by five points (goal from a try) to three (penalty goal). Eltham juniors beat Hawera by nine points to nil. In the senior cup match New Plymouth Stars v Waimate the former won by seven points (penalty goal and a potted goal) to three (penalty goal).
