During the opening performance of Fitz Gerald Brothers' Circus last night Peart, while attempting to dive from the dome into a small tank of water, struck the edge of the tank with his chest, and died later in the evening. The impact was so great that according to medical evidence any one with less vitality and energy would have been killed instantly. Peart was able with assistance to leave the tank.
