Education Board.

The Education Board met on Wednesday. Present: Miss Hey wood, Messrs Baucbope (chairman), Allsworth, Adlam, Ambury, Wade, Hill, Faull and Mac Kay. Miss Miriam Cooper, owing to indisposition, resigned her position as pupil teacher in the Central School.— Accepted. The Board also accepted the resignation of Miss Gow, teacher of the Upper Kent Raad School. Mr A. C. Moor has been appointed teacher of the Oakira School, as recommended by the committee; appointment to date from the 20th inst. OAONUI. Mr G. W. Gane informed the Board that he had resigned the chairmanship and his membership of Oaonui. School Committee. STRATFORD. The monthly report of the headmaster of the Stratford School was forwarded by the Stratford School Committee, who asked for an assistant teacher. Mr Faull moved—" That the question of additional assistance at Stratford, as applied for by the Stratford Committee, be left with the Chairman to deal with." Mr Hill seconded the motion, which was carried. PALMER ROAD In reference to a letter from the Palmer Road School Committee, the Board resolved, on Messrs Mackay and Allsworth's motion—" That the Palmer Road Committee be informed that the Board prefers that the arrangements for examining the School remain as at present, as the object was to give the children a second opportunity of passing, and to note what progress is being made. NO REASON FOB CHANGE. With regard to a notice of motion forwarded by Mr T. McKenzie, a member of the Otago Education Board the Board decided, on Mr Allsworth's motion—" That Mr T. Mckenzie be informed that the present method of nominating candidates and electing members has worked satisfactorily in this education district, and the Board sees no reason to advocate a change."—News.
