The War in Abyssinia.
St. Petersburg, March 10. Russian newspapers are collecting funds for the relief of Abyssinians wounded in the recent engagements with the Italians. Rome, March 10. Riots throughout the country continue. Marquis Rudini succeeds Crispi. The Italian garrison will evacuate Kassala. The latest news is to the effect that troops in Adigrat have a month's pro.visions and ammunition. The Italian losses in the recent engagements include 7000 white troop 3, a miliion rifle and 5000 artillery cartridges, 5000 mules, and 10,000 rifles. The Shoans killed the wounded native allies of the Italians, amputating their limbs and otherwise mutilating their bodies. It is feared Italy will be compelled to retire from the Triple Alliance owing to her shattered condition. Rome, March 11. Affairs throughout the country are becoming quieter. Berlin, March 11. The North German Gazette, in an inspired article, declares that the Italian reserves in Abyssinia will not effect Italy's position in tho Triple Alliance. Rome, March 11. The Shoans had four thousand killed and six thousand wounded in the recent battle. The feeling is growing throughout Italy that withdrawal from Abyssinia is impossible. News has been received that a force of 10,000 Dervishes is in the vicinity of Eassala.
