Messrs Hunter and Nolan’s Report. Horses. —The supply has been slightly restricted, but no noteworthy alteration in value has resulted in consequence. Entries for disposal by auction were scarcely as numerous as on the previous week, and competition was steady. We quote Heavy draught, £lO 10s to £18; medium and light harness horses, £6 to £l3 10s ; hacks, £2 10s to £7 10s ; weeds, 17s to 80s each. Cattle. —Prices have been maintained, and about the usual number disposed of. The Newmarket yards were fairly well filled on Tuesday, and at Pukekohe on Wednesday were crammed. Cows advanced in value fully £1 per head. We .quote —12 to 18-month steers, £1 5s to £1 19s ; 2-year steers, £2 11s to £2 17s 6d; grown steers, £3 10s to £5.2s 6d ; dry cows, £1 10s to £2 15s ; ox beef, 18s to £1 lOOlbs; cow, 16s to 17s; fat steers'ranged from £5 5s to £7 15s ; cows, £3 7s 6d to £5 17s 6d. Sheep were again plentiful at Newmarket, and prices were in favor of the purchaser. Fat wethers sold from 8s to 9s 9d; ewes, 5s to 7s 9d. A pen of well-bred store ewes realised 9s 6d each ; old and poor-conditioned, from Is to 4s. Fat lambs, plentiful, 297 sold, at from 5s to 10s 9d each. Pigs yarded iu limited number, and sold at from 17s 6d to 35s each.
