Land Board.
The Land Board met on Monday. Present: The Commissioner (Mr Strauchon), Messrs Stock, Heslop and Roy. ACQUIRING FREEHOLD. The following applied for the freehold of D.P. land :—B. Johnston, Section 76, Block 11, Opunake ; H. Cock, Section 42, Block 16, Kaupokonui. P.L. land : F. 0. Friston, Section 10, Block 3, Hawera; E. Wright, Section 13, Block 7, Kaupokonui.— Agreed to. EXTENSION OF TIME. H. L. Peake applied for an extension of time to December next to enable him to comply with the requirements for the sixth year's improvements on Section 12, Block 3, Hawera, saying he intended to clear for grassing 80 to 100 acres this season. —Extension granted. MOA ROAD BOARD. This Board applied for permission to anticipate the thirds accrued from Section 6, Block 14, Waitara (£4l 13s 2d), in continuing the present contract for metalling on the Bristol Road.—Agreed to. PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD. This Board submitted proposals for the expenditure of £515 19s, of thirds accrued to 80th September.—The Ranger suggested that the money accruing from Sections 15 and 27, Block 9, Cape, spent in improving the Warea Road from the metal at the junction of Sections 26 and 27, to the Newall Road, about 86 chains. —The report was adopted. STRATFORD COUNCIL. The above Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of £552 12s Bd, of thirds accrued to 80th September. —The Ranger suggested that the Council be requested to spend the money accrued to the Okawa Road (£l7 14s 8d), Gordon Road (£7 6s Id), and Kaikoura Road (£4O 13s 6d), which was proposed to be kept for expenditure after Government works are finished, as it is not anticipated the Government will expend any more money on those roads.—The proposals with the modifications suggested by the Ranger were agreed to. CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL. The above Council's proposals for the expenditure of £sl 8s 6d, interest on loans on various works were sanctioned. ARREARS. W. J. Murphy was granted till 80th June in which to pay up arrears of rent on Sections 8 and 9, Block 14, Cape. MIMI DISTRICT. Misses S. J. and J. M. McCutchan applied for 800 acres of unsurveyed land, Mimi Survey District, under Section 115 of the Land Act.—The applications were declined. When the land is surveyed, it will be open to the public.—News.
