Many meetings have been held in London and the provinces, at which resolutions of sympathy with tbe Queen were carried on the loss of one who volunteered for service in a foreign country. The Prince's death has been a blow to the Queen, who is most deeply affected, especially at the knowledge that her favorite daughter's happy life is thus crushed.
