Land Board.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present: The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Chairman), Messrs Heslop, Roy, Stock, and Hon T. Kelly. The following applied for freehold of d.p. land ; —W. H. Denne, Section 88, Block 1, Geo; J. Dwyer, Section 13, Block 12, Kaupokonui. Agreed to. The Commissioner’s action in endorsing consent to mortgage was confirmed. The proposals of the Egmont Road Board for expenditure of accrued thirds was again considered. The action by the Commissioner was confirmed. The matter was held over until the Road Board replies to the Commissioner’s memo of January. The Commissioner submitted letters from T. Gibson and J, J. Waite complaining of the conduct of W. Murray, selector of Section 19, Block 11, Mimi, Uriti Improved Farm Settlement.—The Board decided that in consequence of the complaint as above, and with a view to preserving order and peace in the settlement, an enquiry into the case be held in the Public Hall at llrenui on Friday, Jarmfuvy 31st, at 10 a.m., under Sectio x 9 of the regulations made under “ The Land Improvement and Native Land Acquisition Act 1894.” The Waimate Road Board applied for permission to transfer the sum of £2l 10s Gd, accrued from Sections 7 and 9, Block 5, Kaupokonui, to Block 9, to be spent on Oeo Road, the settlers having acquiesced in the matter. — Granted.—Herald,
