Amusements, &c.
On Boxing Day the Monte Carlo Hack Meeting takes place on Opua racecourse, and will provide a days outing for those availing themselves of the holiday. All arrangements in connection with the gathering are completed and some good fun may be anticipated. There are eight events on the programme. For the nominated events good entries have been received, and as the acceptance is in the majority of the races only one shilling it is pretty certain they will all start, so that good fields will be the order of the day. Given a fine day we anticipats a large number of people will be in attendance, On Boxing day and the day following the Taranaki Jockey Club hold their Summer Hack Meeting, for which large entries and acceptances have been received. A good number of visitors from this part will be in attendance. ANGLICAN CHUKCH BAZAAR. On Boxing night the Bazaar in aid of the Anglican Church Funds will be brought to a conclusion, when all the goods will be raffled or sold. The Christmas Tree, presented by Mrs Kennedy, will be a great feature of the evening, and to enable all the children to have a share in the fun admission to them will be free.
