The Wool Market. Sydney, December It. In wool, the week’s catalogues have been heavy ; 81,800 bales were offered and 28,450 sold. Competition throughout was very keen, and the upward movement was well maintained for best descriptions, buyers conceding an extra -}-d to -Id. All good greasies were specially brisk, and scoured was also in strong request. Washed wools wore slightly weaker on the whole. It is generally estimated that locally sold wool brought fully 4d higher, after allowing for freight and commission, than would have beeen obtained in London. Melbourne, December 16. The wool sales during the week have boon marked by extreme animation. Competition is keen and advances were fully maintained, buyers showing willingness to stretch a further point for the better classes. Good merino was specially in demand selling up to lljd, while greasy crossbred brought Old. Medium crossbred was hardly so brisk, faulty sorts were irregular, and good scoured firm. Choice clips were sold at and 144 d respectively. The season has passed the zenith, and catalogues are steadily decreasing. To date 280,000 bales were offered, and over 240,000 were sold.
