Town Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Monday, December 9th. Present: —Messrs D. McGregor, O'Brien, and Stewart. Mr McGregor was voted to the chair. Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. Bank balance—Credit, £93. Mr O'Brien moved, That a rate of kl in the £ be struck for period Ist A.pril, 1.895* tp 31st March, 1896. Seconded by Mr Stewart and carried. Resolved'that Mr A. H. Moore be appointed collector. CORSESPONDENCE. From Public Trustee, asking to be supplied with a tracing showing native sections in township on which gorse is growing. From Rachaol Taylor, requesting that certain repairs be done to Whitcombe Road. Resolved, That tenders be called for ditchiog, culvert, and formation on Whitcombe Road. [Stewart-Mc-Gregor.] Mr Stewart drew attention to the need for a culvert on Gisborne Terrace, near McLeod's. Left to Works Committee. Resolved, That ford be made easy of access at Post Office Creek. [Mc-Gregor-Stewart. Resolved, That a surfaceman be employed to clean up footpaths and other necessary work. [McGregor-Stewart. Mr Stewart drew attention to the impassable state of King Street. Works Committee to inspect. Resolved, That in future a press copy of the specifications for Board's works be left at Mr Newman's. [Mc-Gregor-Stewart. Resolved, That the whole Board be a Works Committee to inspect necessary works and that the Clerk accompany them. The works committee to meet on Saturday, 14th inst., at 2 p.m. The usual accounts were passed for payment.
