Anglican Church Bazaar.
The promoters’ of the above have been singularly unfortunate in the weather they experienced during the continuance of the bazaar, only one really fine day occurring. On Saturday it was a regular downpour for a great part of the day, and it was too threatening for many to venture out in the evening. All the ladies taking part in it worked with a will in the face of very adverse circumstances and bad times. The proceeds up to Saturday evening amounted to about TOO gross. There were, however, many valuable articles left, and a number more on which but a very small portion of the value was subscribed, so it has been decided to hold a winding-up day in about a fortnight’s time. Owing to Mr Moiey’s illuess the dramatic entertainment, which was to have taken place oh Saturday evening, could not he given, and it is hoped that he will be fully recovered shortly, when the entertainment will be given and the balance of the goods raffled off and the bazaar closed.
