Opunake Racing Club Handicap, of 70 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stakes ; 1£ miles. Nomination, 20s ; acceptance, 80s. To start at 12.30 p.m. 3. Handicap Hurdles, of 30 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes ; li miles ; over six flights of hurdles, Bft 6iu high. Nomination, 15s ; acceptance, 15s. To start ' at 1 p.m. 4. Farmers’ Plate, of 20 sovs ; second horse to receive 2 sovs from the stakes ; 1 mile. For all horses that are not nominated for any other race at this meeting, and have not started in any other race, Farmers’ Plates excepted, and winners of those barred. Welter weight for age. Gentlemen riders. Entrance, 20s. To start at 2 p.m. 5. New Year Stakes Handicap, of 40 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes ; 1 mile. Nomination, 15s; acceptance, 20s. To start at 2.45 p.m.6. Post Stakes, of 20 sovs. Minimum weight, Bst, £ mile. Post entry, 20s. To start at 3.30 p.m. ' 7. Welter Handicap, of 30 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes. Minimum weight, Bst 71b. 7 furlongs. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 20s, To start at 4.15 p.m. Dates of Nominations, Acceptances, and General Entries. < NOMINATIONS close at Opunake at 8 p.m. on Saturday, 80Lh November. WEIGHTS will appear on Tuesday, 10th December. ACCEPTANCES and GENERAL ENTRIES close at 8 p.m. on Saturday, 21st December. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Rules anti Reftuilatious, Nominations and Entries must be sealed and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Opunake, with fees enclosed, and name, description, age, pedigree and performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. No entry will be received for any race except upon these conditions : That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the Racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint; their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. The winner of any handicap flat race after the publication of the weights to carry a penalty of 71bs in the Flying, Racing Club, and New Year Handicaps ; penalties not cumulative. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand. A HACK is a horse that has never won an advertised race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted), and is not nominated at lime of start, and has not during the three months previous thereto, been nominated for any race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted).
