Mortemer by Conquieuge (son of FitzGladiator) —Comteste, by Baron of Nuncio. Ambros, by Touchstone ~ Annette, by Priam. Apremont was imported into Canterbury 1882 by Mr G. G. Stead. Fantastic’s dam, Fantasy, is by Traducer, out of Miss Flat, who was by the imported Peter Flat, out of the imported dam Mountain Nymph, who again was by Sir Tattou Sykes’ Giselle, by Stockport. Miss Flat is the dam of a numerous family, the greatest of whom was the renowned 'Welcome Jack, one of the greatest race horses ever bred in New Zealand Fantastic is a beautiful bay, standing 17 hands high, possessing great bone substance, and symmetry. His sire, Apremont, came out at the top of winning sires in the season of 1882, beating no than 186 other sires. The placing at disposal of the breeders of the above districts the services of such a well-bred animal as Fantastic is an opportunity that should not be missed by those who desire to obtain good stock. GRAND MOOR JUNR. is a magnificent dark brown horse, standing 16.1, bred by Mr Martin, Mendenhall, of Livermore, Cal., U.S.A., 10 years old. Got bv Grand Moor (2,874), sire of Abdul 2.28 ; Myrtle T, 2.27* ; Sadie Moor, 2.29*, and dams of Sidmoor, 2.19 f, Mustapha, 2.23. First dam Corisande, 2.24* (one of the most beautiful mares ever seen); She, by lowa Chief (528), record 2.84 f, and sire of Bertie M, 2.27*, Charlie Baldwin, 2.27*, &c,, &c. Grand Moor (2,374) is by The Moor (870), record 2.37, sire of Sultan, 2.24, who in his turn was the sire of Stamboul, 2.07*, and 25 others in the 230 list; Tommy Gates, 2,24; Del Sin, of dams of Sable Wilkes, 2.18. It will thus be seen that two other great families are represented in the horse, viz., Clay Pilot (93) and Mambrino Patchen (58). Grand Moor Junr. did some excellent times, and was looked upon as such a fine stamp of horse that he was put to the stud about five years ago, and his stock are now considered amongst the finest in California.
