West Coast Lessees League.
Messrs Elwiu and Wells, two of the delegates appointed to go to Wellington to present petitions, will arrive in Opunake on Sunday evening and leave by coach on Monday morning, meeting Mr A. C. Milne at Otakeho, who is also deputed to proceed with them. The Waihi petition has been unanimously signed. The petition in charge of Mr Malcolm, at Oaonui, has also been signed by all resident lessees. Th« Opunake petition in charge of Mr McHardy, has nearly forty signatures and on Wednesday last all but five bad signed the Stony River one. Further south, we understand, they are signing pretty unanimously, so that considering the short time since the movement was inaugurated very satisfactory progress has been made.
