Startling Tragedy.

Sydney, July 31. News lias been received of a sensational tragedy at Paita. A New Caledonia convict, Piercourt, employed on Madame Fricottc’s station, having been discharged for some offence, procured dynamite cartridges and placed them in the lady’s bed when she was asleep. Her body was blown to fragments, and her daughter, seven years old, was seriously injured. Piercourt afterwards committed suicide by blowing his own head to pieces with another cartridge.
