PASSAGE OF A LETTER.
(tq the editor.) Sir, —la your last issue I see your Rahotu correspondent drawing attention to the long passage of a letter between Opunake and Rahotu. Now, if the letter were addressed " Rahotu," what is it doing at Oaonui ? I would like to know. I cannot see anything extraordinary in a letter being a fortnight on the journey if it be misdirected. Posted at Opunake on the 4th, too late for the mail for Oaonui, it had to lie a week, and arrives Oaonui Thursday, 11th (misdated 10th). There it lies until the following Thursday, and arrives at Rahotu on the 18th, when it is delivered. Perhaps your correspondant will make himself acquainted with the mail arrangements before he rushes into print next time.—l am, &c, One who knows. Oaonui, July 24th.
