The following are regarded as certainties for the Taranaki rep. team : J. Eobinson, A. and H. Good, A. Bayly, L. Allen, Laing, A. Humphries, W. Bayly, D. J. Hughes, W. Lambie, Watson, Wells, and Livingstone. Waimate, Star and Clifton will thus have four representatives each, and Hawera one.
The final Senior Cup match is to be played at Manaia to-day between Waimate and Hawera. It is a foregone conclusion that Waimate will win, and so win the Cup. At present the position for the Cup is:—Stars, 4 wins, 2 losees; Waimate, 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss ; Clifton, 3 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses; Hawera, 5 losses. If the unexpected should happen and Hawera get home, the Cup goes to the Stars. The Waimate team have challenged the Stars to a match to be played in Hawera, probably next Friday. In reply to their challenge the Waimate Club have received word from the Stars that they are willing to play them for the championship. Mrs Kennedy has kindly presented a cup for competition between the Ake Ake and Opunake Football Clubs. The ownership of the trophy is to be decided by three matches, all to be played at Opunake, the first to take place to-morrow. The following team has been selected to do battle for Qpunake ; Full-back, T, Humphries ; three-quarters, Hohaia, E. Edmunds, A. Guy; halves, J. Guy, T. Carter, F. Carter; forwards, J. Lambie, W. Humphries, J. Hiokey, F. Ebbett, W. Duffel, W. McLeod, Pihama, H. Guy and F. Clare.
