Suicide at Pihama.

On Sunday morning James Horsly was found hanging in the porch of his residence by Mr H. Wagstaff. The deceased, who was better known as <• Jimmy the Fencer,” had apparently tied a rope around his nsck and jumped off a small box, his toes only being a few inches from the floor. A Mr Julian had brought him half a cord of wo )d on Saturday, for which deceased paid, and remarked he did not get a cord as he did not expect he would live to see it burned. Mr J. Lambie came into Opunake on Sunday and informed Constable Twomey, who proceeded to Pihama, accompanied by Doctor King, but on arrival he found life was extinct. His body was removed to Messrs Wagstaff Bros' shed, where an inquest is being held to-day, Mr J. Harding-Mason, J.P., acting coroner, presiding. The remains will be interred in the Opunake Cemetery,
