Waimate Road Board.
At the last meeting of the expiring Board, held on Friday, there were present ;—Messrs Coxhead (chairman), Borrie, Barleyman, Mudford, McCarthy, and McKeown. HIRE OF HALL. The Caledonian Society to have the use of the Jdall at half price in consideration of the losses sustained by the society. PALMER ROAD. Henry Parkes applied to have land fund moneys, about £3O, accruing from section 21, Block 12, Kaupokonui, of which he had recently applied the freehold, expended on the Palmer Eoad, from Eltham Road southwards. SKEET EOAD. £65 reported as having been received from the Treasury in respect to the extra 10 per cent on the £650 loan. EINNERTY EOAD, A claim for £2B 7s was received from the Stratford County Council in respect of half the cost of maintenance. —Held over. SUTHERLAND TRACK TO THE BEACH. Martin and Co, applied for a bonus in consideration of the loss sustained by them through a slip on the cutting. Resolved, that the Foreman be instructed to have a small paddock fenced around the entrance of the track at a cost not exceeding £5. (McCarthy - Barleyman.) PATIKI ROAD. That the foreman be instructed to repair with the deferred monies from the townships of Pihama that part of Patiki Road outside the township, which is at present ungravelled. All voted for the resolution except Messrs McCarthy and Sheat. TENDERS. 23. Kiri Road ; bushfelling, stumping, and clearing.—Coffin and Co., 25s per chain ; D. Wilson, 23s : Irvine and Slater, 80s ; Powell (accepted), 83s 6d. 29. Omuturaugi and Oeo Roads ; cleaning metal. Irvine and'Slater, 2s 6d; Rogers and Julian, 3s ; Cameron (accented), Is 3d : Harvey, Is 9d; Gibbonses 6d.|*ife % HOSPITAL, AND CHARITABLE AID. A circuit letter was received from the Mangere Road Board, asking the Board to co-operate with that Board in altering the present system of Hospital and Charitable Aid matters.— Agreed to. '• CLERKSHIP. In committee the matter of opening the applications was threshed out at considerable length, when it was decided that they be opened. Mr McCarthy retired from the table during the voting for the appointment, which resulted in favor of Mr Datson. Resolved, That a testimonial be granted to Mr Tindle as to his efficiency as clerk to the Board.—[Cox-head-McCarthy] NEW WARD. The Board pursuant to a request by Mr J. E. Mudford, agreed to hold over the consideration of the petition for the new Board to deal with.—Star.
