Mr McGuire, in Loudon.

The London correspondent of the New Zealand Herald writes as follows : I have just had a long chat with Mr McGuire, M.H.8., who tells me he means to stay as long as he can with the possibility of reaching New Zealand in time for the Parliamentary session which he expects to begin in July. He and Mr Duthie dine together tonight ; and on Monday Mr McGuire dines with the New Plymouth bondholders, who are very grateful for his exertions on their behalf. Mr McGuire, M.H.8., appears to have produced an excellent impression on the New Plymouth bondholders, and also upon the Council of Foreign Bondholders, with both of whom he has had interviews. They cordially acknowledged his services in the House on their behalf, and Sir John Lubbock and other prominent city men are showing him marked and gratifying attention. The virtual consent of the Government to submit the question of the 200,000 acres of land to arbitration has had a good effect, and the bondholders seemed to be satisfied now that there is no desire to wrong them. Mr McGuire is negotiating an arrangement by which the whole debt would be taken over and “ converted ” at a saving of some £4OOO a year to the Taranaki ratepayers. He is sanguine of being able to carry this out during his sojourn in England,

NEURALGIA. NERVOUSNESS, TOOTHACHE, WEAKNESS, AND GENERAL DEBILITY QUICKLY AND POSITIVELY CURED BY CLEMENTS TONIC. WHICH RESTORES THE VIGOR, SNAP, AND HEALTH OF YOUTH. Mr Ben P. Walker, Willis-st., Wellington, New Zea’and, who writes on July 17th, 1891.: —It,is a pleasure to me to testify to the merits of Clements Tonic.. For twelve years I was afflicted with gout, and consequently sleeplessness. I never knew what it was to have a good night’s rest without suffering pain. I took all sorts of stuff to try and relieve my agony but everything failed until I tried Clements Tonic. After the first bottle I was decidedly better. I then continued its use. and after taking five small bottles I was absolutely cured. I have had other ailments since, but have found Clements Tonic good every time, and never found it fail to give immediate relief. It is the medicine of medicines in my estimation. You are at liberty to make what use you will of this statement. I am well known in Wellingtqn and Hokitika.—Yours very gratefully, Beu P. Walker, Willis-street, Wellington, New Zealand.
