Land Board.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present—The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr Strauchon), Messrs Stock, Heslop, and Roy. PAYMENT OF RATES.

The New Plymouth Harbor Board asked if in the event of being unsuccessful in obtaining payment of rates # on land held from the Crown, the costs of obtaining judgment would be charged against the land.—No action taken until the Board receives advice from the Government. ARREARS.

The following applied for lime to pay arrears of rent on perpetual lease lands:—J. Harre, Sections 12 and 14, Block 15, Ngaire, 5 months; Mr Powell, Section 16, Block 11, Huiroa, 2 months.—Agreed to. EXPENDITURE OF THIRDS. Proposals for expenditure of thirds were submitted as under Taranaki County Council, £144 os lOd; Clifton ' Council, £516 17s. TIMBER LICENSE. Messrs Henn Bros and Willy applied for a renewal of their license to put timber over portion of the Ngaire Block.—lt was decided that the firm be charged 9d per 100 superfical feet for all timber other than totara cut since 81st March last to date, without the permission of the Board, and Is per 100 superficial feet for any totara cut - since 81st March, and that the former license in respect of sections 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 100,101, Block 10, Ngaire, be extended to 31st July, 1895, at 6d per 100 superficial feet, for all other than totara, and Is for 100 superficial feet for totara. SURRENDERS. The following surrenders were accepted:—H. Wright, Section 9, Block 16, Ngatimaru, Terrace End, 5.8., H. T. Jeffree, Sections 4 and 5. Block 5, Kaupokonni: J. Greenwood, Section 11, Block 5, Ngatimaru.— News.
