A Samoan Tragedy.

Reports of a shocking tragedy at Atua have been received at Apia, Samoa. A quarrel had arisen between two families or two sections of one family, which ended in a fight between the two sections. Three were engaged on one side, and seven on the other, and the 'weapons used were lilies and knives. Of the three two were killed, and one of the other side, while several were wounded somewhat seriously. One of those killed had his head taken off, and another literally cut in halves. The whole affair was a purely domestic or tribal quarrel, and has no political significance.
