AWATUNA.
* (Our Own Correspondent.)
We have experienced a spell of grand weather, aud the grass in consequence grows apace, possibly expedited by the recent “ salt storm.”
The milk supply of our Co-operative Cheese Factory is dwindling to a calm and we may expect to shortly see the end of the season.
. A numerously attended meeting of ratepayers was held here on Monday the 6th, in the Town Hall, in reference to the adjustment of the boundary line proposed by the Waimate Ward committee, and after threshing the subject out it was decided that the suggestion to take the Skeet Road as a boundary would be much more preferable. The portion shut out would then have the Opunake Stratford, Ellbam, and half of the Skeet Roads to maintain against the Waimate Waid the Main South and half of the Skeet Roads. A motion to form a new road district of the rest of Waimate was then carried and three delegates, viz., Messrs Henson, Proudlock, and Watson, were appointed to attend the meeting at Kaponga on the 11th, to confer with the ratepayers there on the subject. It is propped to raise a loan to met al the Oeo Road for a mile and a half south of the* Eltham Road, to give access to the Dairy factory.
