Winner of any hurdle race after declaration of weights to carry 71b penalty. , Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 10s. To start at 12 noon. 2. Maiden Plate, of £2O; second horse to rcc five £3 from the stakes. One mile. Weight for age. Open to all horses that have not won a race of any description. Nomination, 20s. To start at 12.80 p.m. 8. Flying Handicap, of £2O ; second horse to receive £3 from the stakes. Six furlongs. Winner of any race after declaration of weights to carry 71b penalty. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 10s. To start at 1.30'p.m. 4. District Welter Handicap, of £2O; second horse to receive £3 from the stakes. One mile and a distance. Open to all horses owned for not less than four months immediately prior to nominations between the Tapuae and Taungatara Rivers. Winner of any race after declaration of weights to carry 71b penalty. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 10s. To start at 2.15 p.m. 5. PUNGAREHU Ct’P HANDICAP, of £3O J second horse to receive £5 from the stakes. One mile and a quarter. Winner of any race after declaration of weights to carry 7lb penalty. Nomination, 15s; acceptance, 15s. To start at 3 p.m. 6. Selling Race, of £2O. For horses that have not won an advertised race of any description. The winner to be sold immediately after the race, the proceeds to be equally divided between the owner of the second horse and the Club. No weight less than Bst. Nomination, 20s. Five furlongs. To start at 3.45 p.m. 7. Rahotu Stakes Handicap, of £BO ; second horse to receive £5 from the stakes. One mile. Winner of any race after declaration of weights to carry 71b penalty. Nomination, 15s; acceptance, 15s. To start at 4.30 p.m. DATES OP NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominations for all events, excepting the Maiden Plate and Selling Race, must be in the hands of the Secretary, Pungarehu Post Office, by SATURDAY, January sth, 1895, not later than 5 p.jn., accompanied by the name, age, color, pedigree, and performances of horses. For the convenience of New Plymouth nominators, Mr A. A. Ambridge has kindly consented to receive the nominations, on SATURDAY, Januuary sth at the Taranaki Hotel, not later than 9 p.m.; and acceptances and general entries on TUESDAY, January 15th, not later than 9 p.m. Handicaps will appear on WEDNESDAY, January 9th, 1895. Acceptances and Entries tor Selling Race and Maiden Plate close on TUESDAY, January 15th 1895. Requisite amounts must accompany all nominations and acceptances. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of a Hack, —A hack is a horse that has not won an advertised race (Hack, Hunter, and Pony races excepted), and is not at time of start, and has not been, during the six calendar months previous to the time of starting, nominated for any race (Hack, Hunter and Pony races excepted). All horses must be ridden in colors, same to accompany acceptances and general entries. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing, as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand. No entry or nomination will be received for any race except on these conditions; —That all disputes, claims and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint; their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, except in cases of appeal, provided for by the Rides of Racing.
