In my last I stated that I thought the settlers would be well pleased to see a good drenching shower or two of rain. Well, they have had just what they wanted. One even informed me that he was watching the grass in front of his house just after the first day’s rain, and be saw it grow about two inches while watching! How’s that for tall ? The Eahotu Rifle Club intend to send a team up to New Plymouth in about a fortnight to try conclusions with the local men. Nov. sth 1874.
