Death of Mr George Taylor.
-t • It is with deep regret that we have to chronicle the death of Mr George Taylor, at the early age of foriy-two years. Deceased was a native of Aberdeenshire, and had been about eight years jn the colony, most of which he spent in the Opunake district. Daring the winter he got laid up with lung trouble, and for several months past was confined to his bed. Dr Christie was attending him, and, we understand, suggested his removal to New Plymouth, where he would be under his personal supervision, and also with a view to perform an operation. He was removed there in the early paft of last week and on Thursday the operation of removing fluid from the lungs was performed, but he gradually sank and expired on .Sunday. Mr Taylor was highly respected and esteemed amongst a large circle of acquaintances, owing to his sterling qualities and genial disposition. He was brother-in-law to Messrs D. F., C. F., rnd J. McGregor of this district, and leaves a wife, son, and daughter to mourn his loss, who will have the deep-felt sympathy of all the settlers in the district in their sad bereavement.
