Land Board.
The Land Board met on Monday. Presentr-fThe Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr Strauchon), Messrs Stock, Heslop, and Roy. MANAIA TOWNSHIP. The result of the sale of sections in the Manaia Township was as Under : Sections I'6, 17, Block 8,2 roods, F. Old (£15); Rections 18, 19, 20, 21, 1 acrei.W. Vine (£30); Section 2, Block 12* Section i 5, Block 4,2 roods, N. 6. Young Section Is,* Block 24, Sections 11 and 22, Block 28, J. J. Patterson (£20); Sectious 9 and 10, Block 24, 2 roods, N. Fowler (£15); Section's 6,7, 8, Block 12, 3 roods, D. Craig (£21); Section" 13, Block 4,1 rood, A. Beven (£7 10s). The schedule was agreed to. TRANSFERS. The following applications for transfer were dealt v/th :—DVP/ lands : G. Coxhead, Section 10, Block 12, Egmont, to S. and H. H. Johnston ; Mrs E. Campbell, Section 36, Block 6, Waimate, to J. J. Campbell. P.L. Lands : W. Rawspn, Section I,Block 5, Omona, to H. Linn; C. Simmons, interest in Section 22, Block 12, Huiroa, to W. C. Simmons. The applications were agreed to. Consideration of James Hooker's application to transfer Sections 8,9, and 10, Block 10, Cape, to James Ducker, was deferred until next meeting. • ACQUIRING FREEHOLD. The following applied forth* freehold of D.P. lands:—G. McLean, Section 85, Block 8, Waimate ; W. H. Leech, Section 1, Block 14, Waitara ; J. and C. Perrett, Section 47, Block 14, Huiroa (perpetual lease). Agreed to. J. Harre applied for exemption from residence on Sections 12 and 14, Block 15, Ngaire. The. Board decided that on condition of his making his home on Section 32, Block 14, Ngaire, the application be granted. DAIRY SITE.
The Surveyor-General wrote with reference to the rent charged by the Board for the Dairy Factory site at Pungarehu. The matter will be considered at next meeting. FORFEITED. The Commissioner reported that A. Weller had failed to comply withXthe conditions of payment and improvement in regard to Section 7 Block 9, and Section 5, Block 10, Ngatimaru. The Sections were declared forfeited, and a demand will be made for payment of arrears of rent to 80th June last. MOANATAIRI SETTLEMENT. A schedule of the prices of sections in the above settlement was submitted, and will, be forwarded to the hon. the Minister of Lands for ap-
proval. ranger's report; The ranger submitted a report on the inspection of 54 sections, comprising an area of 4726 acres of first-class and 7051 acres of second-class, land. The requirements of the Act are 918 acres under cultivation and improvement, to the value of £8720 10s. The area actually under cultivation is 8719 acres, valued at £7285, andr-the other improvements, comprising fencing, building, &c, are valued at £8717,175. Three of the selectors are in default; but since the inspection one has made a start at felling, and the other two have been granted an extension of time to December 31st. EDUCATION RESERVES. The Secretary of the School Commissioners wrote requesting the Board to take steps to offer for sale the education reserves, part Sections 1528, 1572, 1666, 1548, 1597, town of New. Plymouth. They" will be offered for sale at auction at an upset price.of £5 per allotment. . RAWHITIROA BLOCK. A tracing of the subdivision survey' of the above block was submitted, and: the scheme approved of. HUIROA. The Banger submitted a report on Section 18, Block 16, Huiroa, to be offered for selection, .the price per acre being recommended. tp be fixed at £s' per acre. The capital value was fixed at £8 per acre. - TAKEN POSSESSION. * :; "-, •* The ranger reported having taken possession of tho following forfeited lands :—Section- 88, Block 6, Ngatimaru, 188 acres, 17s 6d per acre; Section 15, Block 14, Upper Waitara; 200 acres, 15s ; Section 4, Block 1$ Ngatimaru, 540 acres, 17s 6d. The sections will be offered for selection. URUTISETLLEMENT. A plan and schedule of the sections proposed for the Uruti Improved. Settlement (but division of Section 2, Block 11, Mimi) was laid on the table. The price was fixed at 20s per acre, and the land will be offered under the improved special settlement system. .
