Cattle. —At Stratford, on Tuesday, there was a good number of stock and good attendance of buyers in spite of the wretchedly cold weather. Young cattle were in good demand, and sold freely at the hammer, only one pea being diiveu home, and anything of good quality made advanced prices. Springing cows, heifers close to calving, sold well, an exceptionally choice line of the latter from Mr N. H. Hams’ topping the market at £7 ss. Backward calvers were not enquired for. Small calves made £1 0s 6d to £1 18s ; calves to yearling-*., £2 Is Gd to £2 10s Gd ; 2 to steers, £3 8s to £8 17s ; heifers in calf, £2 19s to £3 10s; springing heifers, £lss to £7 ss, the latter being very prime; store cows, £2 10s to £3 5s ; springing cows, £1 5s to £G 10s.
