RAHOTU.
(Our Own Correspondent.) During the past week the weather has been wretched, Saturday being really the first fine day during the whole week. On Friday last Mr A. Wills was kicked on the leg by a horse, and has been confined to his house since. A large number of settlers of the district attended on Saturday to pay the last tribute of respect to the late Mrs Morrison. Mr Morrison and family will have the sympathy of a large number of friends in their bereavement. In your issue of September 4th you notice a “ best-on-record ” goose egg shown you by Mr Dudley. I saw two eggs at Mr Billings’ place on the Ngariki Road, which beat Mr Dudley’s in size, at any rate. One measured nine inches in circumference one way, and eleven and a half the other. The other measured eight and a half by eleven and three-quarters. Mr Dudley’s goese egg only measured eight by eleven inches. Try again, geese of Opunake! October 13th.
