At Rahotu, on Wednesday, the yards were veil filled with mostly young cattle. Bidding was active from the start, and nearly every pen tolel at the hammer at satisfactory rates. Two or three pens were passed, but, with one exception, were quitted afterwards at a slight reduction of vendors's reserves. There was a good attendance at Mr Clemoe's sale on Tuesday. Unfortunately, a large propoition of the cows bad been in milk fome months, and were down in condition, and prices for this cJass were rather low. Tho springing cows sold well. In the heifer class there was one of the best, displays I have seeu. A finer lot of Jerseys I have never seen together. These were largely competed for, and realised top prices. The store stcck sold well, but tho sheep were passed in. Cows in milk made £8 15s to £5 ; springers, £5 10s to £7 10s; Jersey heifers, £5 10s to £7 2s Gd ; 2-year heifer,?, 48s; 18-month-heifers, 50s Gd ; cows and calves, £3 15s; small calves on the bucket, 7s Gd ; weaners, 245. Auckland Markets. Cattle.—A good many have been brought forward, particularly stores, of which a large number changed hands at prices in favor of the vendors for grown steers, but purchases of young stock were made at slightly reduced rates. At the Newmarket yards on Monday last there was a large catalogue of stores, which were well competed for throughout. Barely the usual number of fat beasts were yarded on Tuesday.
