CROWN LANDS.
(TO "THE EDITOR.) Sir,—The present appears to me to be a good time to urge upon the Government the setting aside of Crown lands in the town district for reserves for harbour purposes. There is a considerable area which might be so reserved that could be made reserveproducing, and the revenue could be set aside for the payment of interest upon a loan for harbour works. If the Government declines to vote mouey for repairs to the jetty, tbis course might be adopted. If the Government should assist the reserves being obtained, the revenue therefrom could be devoted to pay interest on a loan for other necessary works.—l am, &c, A. H. Moore. July 31st, 1894.
