ACTION AT DAKAR

VERSION FROM VICHY (News by Cable.) LONDON, Sept. 23. A Vichy message states that reports indicate that the British squadron at Dakah consists of two battleships, four cruisers, six auxiliary cruisers and a number of destroyers. The Lyons radio to-day stated that a British squadron took English and Dc Gaulle troops to Dakar and issued an ultimatum to the town demanding its surrender. The French authorities refused. The British squadron then fired on Dakar.
