OXFORD ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting was held on Wednesday 6fch. inst. Mr John Weld Chairman, and all members present. Before proceeding to business the Board expressed their sincere sympathy With Mr flarle, m his bereavement. Mrs Ancall presented a numerously signed petition, requesting the Board to reconsider their decision as to their non-compliance with the request of several ratepayers to repair Brown's foot-bridge. The Chairman informed the Deputation that the Board's decision was final, and considered that the reasons, given at their last meeting for the non-compliance with the request were sufficient. He strongly sympathised with the petitioners, and the Board would endeavour to meet their wants by approaching the Railway authorities with a view of getting a foot-bridge constructed m connection with the Railway Bridge.
