Tbap AcciDENT;^-»We are sorry to record that Mr Alfred Winter had a nasty accident on Wednesday last. When passing the Barracks corner the horse took fright at a heap of stones, and Mr Winter was thrown out and badly shaken, and before the horse could be controlled the cart was broken and the horse was a good deal njurad. Mr Winter states that the horse is a remarkably quiet one, but became uncontrolable through the sudden fright. Social. — A Social was held m the Oddfellows Hall, West Oxford on Friday 2nd. inst. to bid farewell to Rev. and Mrs Hounsell. The songs, readings &c. by friends and members of the congregation were well appreciated j refreshments were handed round at intervals. The Chair was taken by Mr David Hawke. We regret to learn that another Oxford youth has died at the Hospital, namely Walter Lamb, which took place, on Friday 2nd. inst.
