Review of Reviews May 1895.
New Zealand has effected a more brilliant stroke of finance than has ever before been attempted' by any of the Australian colonies. Mr. Ward has placed a 3 per cent, loan of £1,500,000 on the London market, fixing the minimum at £90. The loan was subscribed four times over, and brought an average price of £94 8s 9d., This is the first time an attempt has been made by any of the Australian clonies to place a loan at 3 per cent.
