WOMEN ON SCHOOL COMMIT TEES.
The hew School Committee elected I at Whangapoua, on the Ooromandel ' Peninsula, is rather unique m its composition. A correspondent writing from Whangapoua informs the Auckland Star that out- of the seven persons elected as the School Committee for .tKe- ens'aingyeavtfiree are! women, namely, Eate M*lsaacs f Mary Swift, aiid • Pulh*am| * &nd f one is a Maorf^^teE T Ngapo^ A women will ilso preside- over the committee, for she' is :< Mrs-' ov 'Miss') was elected chairman at the : preliminary meeting •• bfthe' cbmmittee- held immediately after the election.
