Funeral.— The scene at the funeral of the late Robert Wright indicates a general sympathy and kindliness of. heart amongst all sections of the people and ive are happy m knowing that these feelings are not peculiar to Oxford but pervade the whole Colony. No matter where or when our fellow Colonists suffer m mind, body or estate the promptings of the heart of sympathy and the hand of help are never withheld. To hear that a fine young fellow of great future promise had just been cut off m the flower of his youth, was naturally a severe shock to the hearts of his parents, relatives and friends" and a thrill of pain shot through every heart m Oxford, when it became known how suddenly and unexpectedly this young life had come to an end. A large crowd collected at the Railway Station to witness the- 'debarkation ! of the corpse from the van to the hearse waiting to receive it, hut before this was effected the lid of the coffin was reverently lifted and all who wished, were, permitted to take a last fond look at the earthly remains. After which the large and mournful procession moved quietly and reverently along to the cemetery where the hearse was met by the Rev. D. Rodgers who performed the "service for the! dead, the service being rendered very impressive by the extreme beauty and stillness of th c weather so that every word reached every ear that were present. Many amongst the mourners carried floral wreaths, these were laid upon the coffin, so that it decended bedecked with floral beauty, speaking volumnes of silent sympathy. The bearers were well chosen,' sound young fellows of good repute and perhaps of high aspirations, and -forcibly reminded one, what the deceased was a few weeks ago. We need scarcely add the relations and friends of the deceased have out most heartfelt sympathy.
