WATER RACE.

Great indignation is felt at View Hill at the action of the Road Board in not attending to the water race in j something like a reasonable time. { Some weeks were allowed to elapse after the fluming was carried away before anything at all was done, no attempt was even made to repair it, at last -'after 1 the settlers had been weeks without water for stock, two men were put on, and the fluming was repaired, this work has been done now over a week; and yet' the water is not turned on. If the farmers on the plains had to drive their stock to the creeks lor water and carry it in buckets for household purposes, there would be howling and lamentations, but our " Liberal " chairman would see to it that their wants were attended to I'll warrant. We small fry must manage as best we can.
