BOWLING.
On Friday evening last four rinks from the Paeroa Bowling Club proceeded by launch to Corbmandel to play an inter-club match with the Coromanael bowlers. After a most enjoyable journey up the Gulf, the local bowlers were entertained at dinner by their hosts.. On Saturday afternoon a match of 31 heads was played, both clubs keen on the aggregate points, with the result that towards the close of the game two rinks had two heads' to play and Paeroa was 6 down. The fate of the Paeroa club depended on Busby and Ellis', who were skipping these two rinks, and with; an enthusiastic crowd of barrjackers to assist them Paeroa played a brilliant finish and eventually won by 5 points. The results of the various games are as follows, Coromandel being mentioned first in each insatnee : Clarke, Mpenreve, Denize, R. Campbell (skip) 32, v.-Rjobson, E. Chester, Pascoe, Hamilton (skip) 32 ; Surflen, Cooper, SpeUman, T. Campbell (skip) 34, v. Inglis, W. Chester, Grant, Busby (skip) 31 ; Carter, Shirimptbn, Brittson, Gorrle (skip) 16, v. Edwards, Walmsley, Mc-Watters, Clews (skip) 44 ; Rostgard, Steele, Sheppherd, j Moore (skip) 44, v. O'Hara, Shaw, j Turner, Ellis (skip) 24 ; Total Points: Coromandel 126, Paeroa 131. On the retiyn journey fishing was indulged in with.., varying success, and althqugh some bowlers showed tha effec.ts of the rough -sea, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the outing.
