"THE HOUSE OF FEAR."
The synopsis of this Pathe Play is summed up as follows :— Ashton Kirk is a young man of high social position and great wealth, who is fond of dabbling in criminal investigation. His interest in "The House of Fear" is awakened by a friend andl he sets out to solve the .mystery. It develops in the last reel that Cramp, the owner of the house ■is beset by a band: of Mexicans who had' induced his late father to make some counterfeit-note bank plates, which he later refuses to deliver. They are hidden on the premises, and the desperate band has sent the dteath sign to the son of their maker. The -scheme is explained by Ashton Kirk who finds that a sword and harp are being used by Cramp's aunt in a clever system of signalling : Through them Kirk learns when the attack is to be made on the house, and traps the band.
