CENSUS NEXT SUNDAY.
TAKING STOCK OF NEW, ZEALAND'S POPULATION
The census of the Dominion is to be taken at midnight on Sunday next and the distribution of the householders' schedules is now taking place, in fact, in most areas the distribution has been completed. The electorate of Ohinemuri has been cut up into areas, and each sub-enume-rator has a clearly defined area in which to operate, and it is his duty to see that forms are left at every inhabited house.
The householder's schedule is the form that concerns most people. It is to be filled up by the occupier or person in charge of the dwelling, with particulars respecting all the persons who slept of abode there on the night of Sunday, October 15, together with those travelling or out at work that night (and not included in any other schedule), and who return to the dwelling on Monday, October 15. If the house is occupied by different families in separate stories or apartments, each story or apartment is to be treated as a separate schedule.
The collection of the forms will be begun on Monday, October 16, and will be completed as quickly as possible. Persons who are in doubt about any point may consult the collector, but the instructions printed upon the forms are clear and definite, and few difficulties should arise.
