The Ohinemuri Gazette. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1915. A WORD ABOUT OURSELVES.

With this issue the name of W. D. Nicholas alone as proprietor of the "Ohinemuri Gazette" ceases, and in future the paper will be printed, published, known and carried on under the name aad style of "W. D. Nicholas Limited." In view of this, and with due regard to the rapid expansion of the district, many improvements in the mechanical department of the "Gazette" have already been made, and still further advancement is being considered. We have just installed, direct from New York, what is known as the "Linograph" type-setting, machine. This wonderful piece of machinery is calculated to do in a single day the work of six men. The machine is quite a new invention, and is about the third so far that has reached the Dominion. The continuous and steady progress of the district has warranted the outlay, and we can now assert, quite regardless of contradiction, that the "Ohinemuri Gazette" is the best equipped provincial printing establishment in the North Island. Our job printing plant is up-to-date in every respect. Our types are all of the latest and best faces, and there is nothing new that appears on the market that will serve our customers that we let pass. Our machine-room is complete in every detail for the class of work that comes our way. It may not be generally known, \ but the fact remains all the same, that we receive work from all along the line to Rotorua and beyond Hamilton. This speaks for itself. Does it not prove that our productions are recognised? It is on account of our increasing outside connection, and more particularly by the, growth of the township and its outlying districts, that we have been compelled to increase our plant to meet the demands upon us. Had the war not come upon us, we anticipated making these changes earlier, but have out them off from time to tiime till we could do so no longer, It is the intentipn of the new Company—as soon as the machinery and equipments are in perfect working order —-to effect such improvements to the "Gazette" as shall make it one of the most creditable provincial newspapers in the North Island. In conclusion, in return for our outlay, all we ask is your support. Our outlay in connection with the type-setting machine and other appliances has been very extensive^ so we trust that Paeroa and the districts around will recognise this, and remember that the "Gazette" office at the present time is capable of undertaking everything and anything, ih the way of printing, and executing it in a style that we feel sure cannot be exceeded, even in the large towns of the Colony.
