THAMES CARNIVAL.

The competition at the Thames is proving very exciting, and already about £1000 has been collected, and- will be forwarded through the Executive to Auckland. Six donations received

yesterday totalled £350, including one of 100 guineas trom Mr E. N. Miller, and one ot 50 guineas from Mr Clendon. The Maoris are taking a very keen interest in the Carnival, and seem determined to place their " Queen " at the top of the poll. The procession organised by the Fire Brigade on Labour Day resulted in over being collected. ■
