George the FiVst is said to have been responsible for the word "Cabinet," us it has long applied to politics. Wl.on he was King he could not take part in the deliberations of his own Privy Council because he knew no English. « His statesmen did not speak German. So tho Ministers who served tho first of the Hanoverian Sovereigns, used v to meet in the King's private room or' cabinet while he.was absent, and thus' came to lie spoken of as his "Cabinet Council." ,"
